Food Art

The human figure and face is one of the passions of Javier Ideami. And he has expressed this passion through many channels: drawing, painting, photography, filmmaking, and also through cooking and food, mixing another of his passions, bread, with the human face.

Ideami creates masks made of bread for celebrations. It is one of his traditions that all the attendants are captured in a photo holding the mask. Afterwards the bread is enjoyed by the group. Apart from being really fun to make, the bread mask is also a way to reflect about creativity. How can we communicate through the mask? When we all share the same channel of communication, the same bread mask, how can we stand out? what creative gestures, positions and solutions can we find to communicate who we are, and what we want to tell the world?
