In november i was in Cost Rica exploring the jungle and capturing material for a future documentary. Those days i also captured different sequences intended to be used for relaxation videos. Long takes of waves, rain, sounds of the jungle. I have a good friend, Jordi, that has a youtube channel with very long videos of that kind. It’s an interesting format working with very long meditation pieces; In youtube you can find up to 10 hour videos to immerse yourself in the sound of nature and similar contexts. So to give it a try I just uploaded my first 1 hour video to youtube, with a view of Punta Uva beach, near Puerto Viejo, in the caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
This is a good video to medidate on the coming and going waves, the qhite foam and the soft sand, the swimmers in the distance and the far away palm trees fading towards the horizon.
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, by the way, is a coastal town in the Limón Province in south eastern Costa Rica. Good place for surfers, and nice beaches like Playa Chiquita, Playa negra and of course this one, Punta Uva, which is featured in the one hour sequence of this video. All those beaches are located between Puerto Viejo and Manzanillo. Walking the road or the coast you can get all the way from beach to beach, a great walk interacting with animals and beautiful vegetation all around.
Not far from there you can get to Cahuita national park, fantastic place to snorkel, dive and enjoy beach and jungle side by side! Walk among racooons, sloths, capuchin monkeys and other animals while you listen to the beautiful birds sing to you.
