Arbol Blanco
Árbol Blanco (White Tree) is a Journey to the center of your roots in the form of a single poem, 715 verses long, fully in Spanish, in a format inspired in the "endecasilabo blanco" of the great poet Octavio Paz. It will stimulate your senses and make you reflect about yourself in many different ways. The poem is built to make you visualize a deep journey that may change the way you see yourself.
Ideami has done numerous portraits for clients all around Europe. For his portraits Ideami works mainly with the technique of Conte (Sanguine and Sepia). Conte is a technique that often serves as a bridge between drawing and painting as it allows the artist to draw carefully the detail and also to use different kinds of brushes to produce painting texture. Apart from his portraits, Ideami works with many other painting and drawing techniques including: Acrylics, watercolours, pencil, Charcoal, digital art, etc. Sometimes he uses them by themselves, other times he combines them to produce mixed-technique works.
Javier's main interest has always been the human face and figure. This is clearly expressed as well on his photography and digital artworks.
The human figure and face is one of the passions of Javier Ideami. And he has expressed this passion through many channels: drawing, painting, photography, filmmaking, and also through cooking and food, mixing another of his passions, bread, with the human face.
Ideami creates masks made of bread for celebrations. It is one of his traditions that all the attendants are captured in a photo holding the mask. Afterwards the bread is enjoyed by the group. Apart from being really fun to make, the bread mask is also a way to reflect about creativity. How can we communicate through the mask? When we all share the same channel of communication, the same bread mask, how can we stand out? what creative gestures, positions and solutions can we find to communicate who we are, and what we want to tell the world?
